A Logan County Deputy was injured in a crash late Saturday night by a driver that was suspected to be under the influence at the time of the accident.

The driver was later identified as Freddie Lee Watkins.

Investigators say the crash occurred after Watkins ran a stop sign at the intersection of Sooner Road and Charter Oak and collided with the passenger side of the deputy's vehicle, which caused it to roll.

The Logan County Deputy was transported to the hospital with a serious neck injury.

The deputy was released from the hospital this morning where it was found that he had three neck fractures, which may later require surgery.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol worked the scene of the crash.

Watkins was subsequently arrested for a DUI.

Crash scene images were provided by the Guthrie News Page.
