Oklahoma City University announced an accelerated program to address a nationwide nursing shortage.

The program is the first and only 12 month nursing program in the state.

Students who have an associates or bachelors degree are able to enroll in the courses.

"It is very rigorous, we discourage them from working during that time, which is why we have many scholarships available to those students," OCU Dean of nursing Gina Crawford said.

Scholarships range from $10,000 to $17,000 depending on your GPA.

The first classes begin in January.
