Visitors and workers returned to the Oklahoma State Fair for it's final day of the year on Sunday just hours after a shooting took place the night before.
One vendor told News 9 she hasn't questioned her safety after Saturday's event.
“It was kind of scary at first because we didn’t know what was happening," said vendor Debbie Reid. "All of a sudden, people started running from outside into the building. And they were screaming so we yelled at one of them to find out what was going on, and they said ‘Shooter.’”
Reid is a pillow vendor who was in the Centennial Building at the time of the shooting. The Centennial Building is right next to the Bennet Expo Center where the shooting took place.
Reid said police responded to the incident fast and she hid under her table for nearly 45 minutes until she got the all clear.
When she came out, she says she saw more than 30 police officers outside the Expo Center.
She didn't hear the initial shots but she says that made it even more difficult to react.
Police and officials said one person was shot and two people were taken into custody in an "isolated incident" at the Oklahoma State Fairgrounds on Saturday night.
Oklahoma City Police determined the shooting was the result of an argument between a group of men just before 9 p.m.
"It's very early on in the investigation, and we're still trying to determine what happened," said Oklahoma City Police Capt. Valerie Littlejohn.
The Oklahoma State Fair has a policy prohibiting guns, and the entrances have detectors. It is unknown how the person involved with this shooting was able to bring a firearm into the fair.
Police and state fair officials are investigating how the gun got inside.
A spokesperson says these detectors are specifically designed to notice guns and knives, but not everyday items like phones or keys.
