The owner of a hand-built hunting blind is searching for his project after it was stolen from its land just southeast of Okarche on Saturday.
The owner, Tom Mueggenborg, said he spent countless hours building the blind, and hoped for it to last.
"It was unique," owner Tom Mueggenborg said. "I built it to last so I could take my kids, and they could take their kids."
Mueggenborg said he cherishes the memories he made building it and was hoping it’d be passed down for generations.
The hunting blind was on private property, atop cinder blocks underneath a non-rolling trailer, Mueggenborg said the blind was last seen Saturday afternoon and was gone by Sunday.
Mueggenborg said he hopes whoever took the blind returns it, even if it is done anonymously.
"You can park it in a ditch and just leave it because I know someone will find it," Mueggenborg said. "I'm hoping someone will see this and I'll get it back."
Mueggenborg also said he doesn’t want to press charges, as he hopes to see it again.
"I don't want it destroyed," said Mueggenborg.
Mueggenborg said if it doesn't turn up, he will rebuild it, but it won’t be completed in time for this year's hunting season.
