The manhunt continues for a convicted felon accused of shooting a deputy near the town of Wynnewood. Kameron Jenkins has now been on the run for more than 30 hours.

OSBI said Kameron Jenkins was last seen here in Garvin County. This is supposed to be a week of excitement for people in Wynnewood.

“Actually, this is homecoming week,” Mooney said. But, superintendent Byron Mooney said it's not going as planned. “I don't think anybody has seen this many law enforcement officers in our town, so people are aware they're nervous. They're scared because of the unknown,” Mooney said.

Authorities are searching for a man involved in a shooting that injured a Cleveland County Deputy and killed an innocent bystander.

“We didn't run buses yesterday. We asked parents to come pick up their kids. And we handed that student off to an adult, so we knew that they were going to a safe place,” Mooney said. The community is on edge.

15-year-old Aliyah Hernandez said Oklahoma Highway Patrol showed up to her door with their guns drawn when she was home alone, “Instantly like a panic, like I didn't expect it at all,” Hernandez said.

Her mom Megan Fields said she saw armed men with Oklahoma Highway Patrol go in her home from their ring doorbell camera and called her daughter.

“They didn't introduce themselves they didn't knock,” Fields said.

Fields said her fear then turned to anger. She said a manhunt in her community is scary enough, but this made things worse.

“My nine-year-old son was at school. The teachers were telling all the younger kids what was going on and he said he has a relative named Cameron,” Fields said.

Fields said they are not related to Jenkins.

“It's just because he was mixed is my belief,” Fields said.

OHP said they didn't need a warrant. They sent a statement saying:

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol’s tactical team, along with other OHP personnel and assets, is actively working with many law enforcement agencies to locate, and arrest Kameron Jenkins. Jenkins is considered armed and dangerous. Every single tip that comes in is being thoroughly investigated, and that includes interviews and knocking on doors. We appreciate the community’s cooperation as we all work to make sure Jenkins is no longer a threat to law enforcement or the community.

“He was telling the truth he does know two Cameron’s, but he doesn't know that Kameron Jenkins,” Fields said.
