City leaders want Plaza Inn to shut down because of crime rates at the motel, but they are giving owners a chance to make changes first.
Court filings call the Plaza Inn ‘one of the most dangerous places in Oklahoma City.’ Oklahoma City police received calls to this address hundreds of times, more than 700 in the last two years.
Oklahoma City filed a lawsuit against the Plaza Inn earlier this year asking a judge to declare the motel a nuisance. Last Friday, Judge Don Andrews did just that.
A consent decree was filed that same day. It said, ‘the court finds that, based on the evidence, the Plaza Inn is a public nuisance due to the violent criminal activity on the property that continues unabated.’

The owners have until October 27th to meet the terms of this agreement or they will have to shut down.
