A man was arrested, after bringing a stolen firearm into The University of Central Oklahoma's campus, according to Oklahoma City police.

Court documents show that Jefferey Wilson isn't just facing complaints for bringing a stolen gun to UCO. It said he's connected to other crimes in downtown as well.

UCO's Academy of Contemporary Music was on lockdown Monday. Connor Cunningham said the university sent him an email that staff noticed a man inside the Bricktown campus with a gun in his pocket. “Hearing it, I was a little concerned,” Cunningham said.

UCO sent News 9 this statement:

On Monday, Oct. 16, a man entered the Academy of Contemporary Music @ the University of Central Oklahoma (ACM@UCO) building in Oklahoma City’s Bricktown district without authorization. The individual gained access by following a student in from the main entrance. Camera footage confirms he was in the building for approximately six minutes and departed without incident. While he was in the building, a staff member noticed he had a firearm in his pocket. ACM staff responded with proper protocol by locking down the elevators and immediately notifying police. The man never brandished his weapon or made any verbal or non-verbal threat. Oklahoma City Police located the individual outside the ACM building and, after making contact, made an arrest. OCPD may be contacted for a police report.
We thank our ACM staff for their quick, non-escalating reaction to this person. The incident happened very quickly, and no one was threatened or hurt. We are also grateful to OKC Police for their swift response. This incident is a reminder that it is the responsibility of each member of our community to keep safety and security at the forefront and follow policies pertaining to entrance into the ACM@UCO facility. ACM students, faculty and staff access entrances to the facility and the elevators by swiping their UCO ID. The ACM community has been reminded to not let anyone into the facility that they do not know and to remain vigilant of their surroundings.

Cunningham said having an access card is the only way to get in. “Sometimes you might hold the door for someone. I know that's a response I might do a lot,” Cunningham said.

UCO said the man was in the building for less than 10 minutes and left without any problems. “I'm very glad that they said it was resolved very quickly,” Cunningham said.

Oklahoma City Police arrested Wilson. Court documents said they found a gun in his back right pocket. It also says that a gun was stolen out of a car of someone who works right across the street from campus along with their license plates.

Surveillance cameras also show Wilson spending some more time in Downtown Oklahoma City over the weekend. Another probable cause affidavit said Wilson attempted to steal a motorcycle from a parking garage on Main Street.

Court documents said the motorcycle is worth 20 thousand dollars. Police caught on to Wilson when he went into a restroom nearby and refused to leave.

His bond is set for $25,000.
