Three accused drug dealers have been charged with the murder of a metro man.
The fatal shooting of Norris Wilson, 29, happened during a drug deal inside a northwest Oklahoma City home earlier this month. Oklahoma County prosecutors added a robbery charge, Jason Caruthers Junior. He was accused of pulling a gun on the victim and the two other suspects.
The stick-up inside a home near West Wilshire Boulevard and North Western Avenue turned deadly for Wilson.
“When officers did arrive, they did locate an adult male victim inside a residence who was deceased from an apparent gunshot wound,” said Captain Valerie Littlejohn, Oklahoma City Police Department.
Through the investigation, police learned Norris went to Karrington Lewis' home the afternoon of October 6th for a drug deal. Witnesses told investigators Jason Caruthers Junior and Dale Williams Junior were also there. According to court documents, Caruthers took drugs from the men, went to the front door, and racked his gun. He allegedly "told everyone this was a robbery and to empty their pockets." Police said Norris pulled a gun and shot at Caruthers. The suspect returned gunfire and shot the victim, killing him.
Neighbors heard the gunshots from what they described as a known drug house.
“It’s not OK to have this situation in the neighborhood,” said the woman. “You no safe.”
Police searched a car at the scene and found Xanax pills, marijuana, crushed-up pills, Ecstasy, and thirteen empty bottles of Promethazine syrup.
Police arrested Williams and Lewis one week after the deadly shooting. Caruthers was arrested several days later. All three men face one count of first-degree murder. Williams and Lewis each face an additional charge of distribution of a controlled dangerous substance.
