Norman Woman Found Guilty Of Killing Sister-In-Law

A woman from Norman was found guilty of the murder of her sister-in-law by a Cleveland County jury.

Norman Police said Margarita Sandoval's body was found in the basement of a Norman home in 2021.

According to investigators, Desiree Sanchez killed Margarita and left her in a box for three years before her body was found.

Court records show Sanchez and her husband, Octavio Sanchez, continued to collect Margarita's disability checks.

The jury has recommended a life sentence for Sanchez, whose sentencing is set for early 2024.
