Following OSU's explosive victory, some are now questioning what happened in the moments after fans stormed the field. Videos are circulating social media detailing the chaos as Cowboy fans attempted to tear down the goalposts.
"At that point, it was just pandemonium," Connor Gray, an OSU student, said. "When people were just climbing on it and stuff it was just pure chaos."
Gray was among those who stormed the field. He says he witnessed several people get hurt jumping the wall from the stands. "It's deceptively high,” he said. “Like probably 10 feet."
Once on the field students were climbing the goalposts. In a video shared to Oklahoma State's barstool accounts a fan was tased while on the goal posts. The person seen tasing the fan was wearing a Payne County Sheriff's Deputy uniform.
News 9 reached out to the Sheriff's Office but did not receive a response.
More chaos erupted as the goalposts came down. "That thing came down with a lot of speed. And it's a heavy thing obviously," Gray explained. "They broke it into a few different pieces."
Those pieces were carried across OSU's campus and some ended up in a pond on campus, as seen on social media "A piece of the goalpost went down the strip last night,” Gray said. “Some people took it through Wendy’s."
But after the now viral field rush and campus tour for the goalposts, the university is taking a closer look at the Bedlam after Bedlam.
OSU’s statement to News 9:
"We are gathering information at this time and reviewing the events that occurred after the game."
News 9 has not heard back from the Payne County Sheriff's Office.
