Shawnee Police Officer Arrested Following Investigation, SPD Says

A Shawnee police officer has been arrested following an investigation into allegations made against the now former officer, SPD said.

Gary Moore was arrested following an investigation by the Shawnee Police Department, along with the Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s Office and the District Attorney’s Office, SPD said.

Moore has also been terminated from his employment with the Shawnee Police Department, SPD said.

He has been booked into the Pottawatomie County Safety Center, SPD said.

In statement, the department said, "The Shawnee Police Department requires officers to abide by a high ethical and moral standard that is consistent with the rule of law they are sworn to uphold."

The reason for his arrest is unknown at this time.
