The Tulsa VFW is hosting its big Veterans Day celebration Friday morning.
The VFW was filled with people getting a free breakfast ahead of the Veterans Day parade.
Veterans and non-veterans were encouraged to come out and grab some food starting at 7 a.m.
The VFW expected anywhere from 1,500 to 2,000 people to show up.
Starting at 11 a.m., nearly 5,000 people will march in the Tulsa Veterans Day parade.
Joshua Starks, Tulsa VFW Events Coordinator, said it's a great opportunity for veterans to see some of the people they served with.
"You get to see those moments when they come together. These big bear hugs and these moments when they just, they're really excited to see each other. Because sometimes we deal with stuff as veterans, and this is the day that we remember we are not alone in the things we struggle with," Starks said.
