The Oklahoma State Department of Education released its statewide report card, highlighting a decrease in reading proficiency and a slight increase in math scores.
The new data shows reading scores dropped by nearly one percent, from 27.2-percent to 26.3-percent.
Eighth graders saw the biggest drop in reading scores, with only about 19-percent scoring proficient, down nearly 6-percent from 2022.
Overall, math scores did improve slightly, from 24.9-percent to 25.1-percent, according to the data.
