Downtown OKC To Kick Off Holiday Celebrations With Tree Lighting

Downtown in December kicks off tonight at the annual Oklahoma City Tree Lighting Festival.

Mayor David Holt and Santa Claus will be downtown lighting the 30-foot tall tree and taking part in a variety of family-friendly activities.

The festival will take place in Bricktown on the Mickey Mantle Plaza of the Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.

The event is Thursday night from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and is free to the public.

Activities include diverse performances highlighting the city’s many cultures and traditions, a Letters to Santa station, free treats from Bricktown Businesses, DIY photos with Santa Claus, caricatures, balloon art, a Magic Elf, and more.
