The city of Luther is hosting their 6th annual Luther Pecan Festival on Saturday and Sunday.
Dawn Shelton and some special guests joined Tevis Hillis in the News 9 studio to talk about the events this weekend.
The festival is a family-friendly, full-day event. There will be art, food, music, and tons of pecans.
The event has several options for mobile cuisine, offering food trucks from across the metro. There will also be over 100 vendors to shop from.
New festival features include the lighting of Luther's holiday attraction, "L'Whotherville," on Saturday and a 5K run/walk on Sunday morning to celebrate the town's 125th anniversary.
The lighting of "L'Whotherville" is on Saturday at 5 p.m., featuring the music of Carter Sampson, appearances from the Grinch, Whos, and Santa, and a street dance featuring The Wagon Wheel Band.
The festival runs again on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. after the 5K Run/Walk that will take participants by Luther's Booker T Washington Park and the countryside.
