Man Flashes A Gun During Turkey Drive-Thru In OKC; Organizers Grateful To Help Many Others

Fade-N-Up owner Corey Sutter hosted a turkey drive-thru on Sunday to give back to the community and those involved didn't let an upset driver with a gun stop the event. Sutter says the driver angry after he demanded two turkeys and was told he’d have to get back in line for the second.

A metro barber says a man flashed a gun at him this afternoon as his business hosted a free turkey giveaway in Northwest OKC.

"There's kids here, bro,” said Fade-N-Up owner Corey Sutter in a video of the incident captured by a News 9 photographer. “Come on man, could you please leave? Oh, he got a gun now! He got a gun.”

Sutter says the driver of the pickup became angry after he demanded two turkeys and was told he’d have to get back in line for the second.

"We're giving away one turkey per car. But I told him, I said 'Well sir, you can get back in line, the line was extremely long',” Sutter explained over the phone Sunday evening. “But it worked out real good, we had so many turkeys to give away, so he would have got another turkey.”

Organizers did not contact the police, saying they chose to focus on the hundreds who were grateful for the event.

Holiday spirit was in full swing Sunday afternoon, at Fade-N-Up’s turkey drive-thru.

"It's a long line out there right now," Sutter said at the event. "You see it's raining out here but it's not stopping anything."

Sutter is the brains behind this Thanksgiving turkey giveaway.

“It's just a wonderful blessing to be out here and see the smiles on people's faces," he said.

According to Sutter, the event was a group effort.

"There's a lot of unfortunate people out here so we all came together and made it happen," Sutter explained. "Just giving back to the community, it's a wonderful thing."

Fade-N-Up, along with other sponsors, raised $11,000 in preparation for their turkey drive-thru.

"Donations, and it came out of our pockets and stuff and a lot of people reached out to us just wanting to be a part of it and we got all kinds of volunteers out here,” Sutter said.

Volunteers made sure everyone got their turkey.

"We had a lady that's been up here since 4 o'clock this morning,” Sutter said. “So we might have to give her two turkeys."

The Fade-N-Up crew gave out a total of 540 free turkeys, and say that's how they want their event to be remembered.
