Blue Whale On Route 66 Lights Up For The Christmas Season

Route 66 is looking festive in Catoosa, Oklahoma, where the city just turned on Christmas lights at the Blue Whale.

The famous landmark brings in visitors from all over and crews spend the last week decorating it for this lights-on event.

Lots of people were in attendance, including Lakey Cherokee Post 1800 of the American Legion, who brought their hot dog cart to the event for the first time.

"We've been selling hot dogs for years. The hot dog cart actually paid for our building that we're in now," said Commander of Lakey Cherokee Post 1800 American Legion Rusty Price.

There were other good causes to support, too.

Santa and Mrs. Claus were collecting donations for the Dotson family, whose son July is battling an inoperable form of brain cancer.
