A multi-year project in downtown Collinsville to renovate a historic building is now complete.
Next year is Collinsville’s 125th anniversary of its founding. So, business owners said ahead of it, they are looking to invest even more.
Owners of the brand T3 Roasters have expanded their business, opening the new T3 Coffee Co. shop.
Linda Tucker said she and her husband worked to revitalize the building that’s sat empty for more than two decades, and preserved antique items found there including historic bricks.
They also discovered a steel beam from Lackawanna, which was only sold from 1840 to 1922.
Linda hopes T3 Coffee Co. serves as a space for people in the community and a hub for surrounding areas.
"We came in and did a complete historic preservation on the building. And so we just really brought it back to life. We did a lot of research on what this building looked like when it was first built. All the different businesses and industries that have been in this place and really just tried to let that shine," Linda said.
Many merchants will hold a giant block party on Saturday, Dec. 16, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in downtown Collinsville.
It will not only promote their grand opening, but many other recently opened businesses. Many of them also plan to offer sales or discounts.
