It's a car that will turn heads, and is probably one of the most recognizable in Tulsa. It's the Hearsicorn - part Hearse, part unicorn. The creator, Chandra Valkyrie, was on the Arca Continental Coca-Cola Southwest Beverages Porch to tell us all about it.
"Well, I've always loved art cars. And I got to drive some of the art cars that are in town in parades and always wanted to do my own. So I was always interested in the macabre and unicorns. And I like to kind of shock people in good ways and happy ways. And so this just kind of came together," Valkyrie said.
"So, it's for like parades and driving around. Sometimes I'll just drive it around when I'm, you know, need an uplift in my mood. I get the awesome reactions from people. They really enjoy it. And I have attended parties and things like that, too," Valkyrie said.
"Oh, gosh, they're all over the place. And I love all of the reactions. And I'd say 95% of them are very positive, but I love all of them. Usually, they'll kind of be shocked at first, like, 'what am I looking at here?' And then they'll see the unicorn and they'll smile. And then they're like, 'is that a hearse?' Then they kind of get juxtaposed again, and then they go back to just excitement about it. And usually sometimes it ends in screams or happy feedback about, you know, getting to see it," Valkyrie said.
