Abandoned Tahlequah Home Burns Down After 2 People Light A Fire To Stay Warm

Tahlequah firefighters say an abandoned house was destroyed Monday night after a fire got out of control.

The fire had already taken over the house when Firefighters were called to the house on South Old Highway 62 shortly after 10. Firefighters say two people admitted to staying inside the home and lighting a fire to keep warm.

The Fire Department says it took more than two and a half hours to put out the flames.
