The Greenwood Chamber of Commerce is starting a new venture to promote Black-owned businesses.

The chamber said there are incredible Tulsa businesses and it wants to do more to promote them.

That's why it's launching both an online marketplace to highlight Black Wall Street businesses.

Meghan Scott is the community engagement director for the chamber.

She wants to help market businesses that may not be able to afford marketing services.

Scott said part of the reason some struggle is because they just need more visibility.

"I thought, 'You know what? There is nothing on Greenwood at all during the weekends that promotes community and that supports small businesses. So why not build and form a marketplace? Why not bring everybody under one roof and just market that group, versus trying to go out to individual people and help them individually,'" Scott said.

The new in-person marketplace will be set up at the chamber every Saturday starting in June. CLICK HERE to visit the digital marketplace.
