Five home runs and five scoreless innings in relief from Ivy Rosenberry helped the No. 7/8 Oklahoma State softball team claim an 11-6 win over Stetson at Patricia Wilson Field Wednesday.
The Cowgirls trailed, 6-2, after two innings, but scored six times in the sixth inning and twice in the seventh to claim victory.
With the win, the Cowgirls improved to 8-2. Stetson fell to 2-8.
OSU recorded 14 hits and the Cowgirls' five home runs came from five different players.
Rosie Davis was the first Cowgirl to homer, blasting a ball over the centerfield fence in the second inning, followed by a homer from Tallen Edwards in the third. In the sixth inning, Micaela Wark tied the game with a two-run home run and a three-run shot from Jilyen Poullard later in the inning – her first for OSU – gave the Cowgirls the lead for good. Caroline Wang capped the scoring with a two-run shot in the seventh. It marked the first five home run game for the Cowgirls since March 27, 2022, against Texas Tech.
Rosenberry (2-0) inherited a 6-2 deficit when she entered the game in the third inning and kept the Cowgirls in the game by striking out a career-high nine batters and allowing only three hits over the final five innings.
"Tonight, I was just focusing on batter-to-batter, pitch-by-pitch making sure my mechanics were good and just do me," Rosenberry said.
The Cowgirls return to action Thursday at 12:30 p.m. CT against No. 4/5 Washington in Tampa, Florida.
