Cleveland Co. Commissioners Meeting To Discuss Sheriff's Office Funding

Cleveland County commissioners will hold a special meeting Thursday afternoon to discuss the county sheriff's office current budget issues.

Earlier this year, Cleveland County Sheriff Chris Amason said the sheriff's office did not get the funding it was due, and the county budget board then asked the sheriff to justify the additional funding,

The Sheriff turned over more than a dozen boxes of documents, and the state auditor is reviewing the county's finances.

The meeting begins at 12:45 p.m.
