The OKC Thunder's Head Coach, Mark Daigneault has been voted as the National Basketball Coaches Association's NBA coach of the year, according to a report by ESPN.
The Thunder sent out a press release Monday stating that Daigneault was named the Michael H. Goldberg NBCA Coach of the Year, as announced by the National Basketball Coaches Association.
The NBCA award is presented annually and voted on by all 30 NBA head coaches, according to the release.
Daigneault led the Thunder to a 57-25 record during the 2023-2024 season, and OKC became the youngest team to claim the No.1 seed in either conference, in NBA history, according to the release.
The Thunder was also one of two teams this season to end in the top five in both defensive ratings and offensive ratings, according to the Thunder.
Daigneault became the fourth head coach in Thunder history on November 11, 2020, after joining the organization in 2014, as head coach of the Oklahoma City Blue for five seasons, according to the release.
