The Oklahoma City Baseball Club is gearing up for its upcoming season ahead of the debut of a new name and logo.
News 9's Jordan Ryan went to the Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark with the Coca-Cola Southwest Beverages Porch to discuss what fans can expect this year.
Team President Michael Burns said they are in the middle of a rebrand. The team will have a new identity by 2025 but still has exciting things planned for the 2024 season.
"It's given us a chance to really think about our history and so we're doing a lot of celebration from our old 89ers days, our Red Hawks days, the years that we played as the Dodgers," Burns said.
He said that fans can anticipate a variety of theme nights this season, and special events dedicated to honoring the club's history and engaging with the community.
"There's always something going on," Burns said. "We always have fireworks every Friday throughout the season. Sunday is our family-themed Sunday, with autographs for the game and kids run the bases post-game."
