A metro woman is wanted by Oklahoma City police after admitting she ran over her husband during an argument. Police said the man died 10 days after being run over in a business parking lot.
Oklahoma City homicide investigators filed an arrest warrant on Monday for the 66-year-old woman, Treva Morgan. At last check, she has not been arrested or turned herself over to authorities.
The investigation started the evening of April 16th. A 911 call led police to a business parking lot at Northwest 10th Street and Rockwell Avenue.
“As it turns out it was a couple,” said Msgt. Gary Knight, Oklahoma City Police Department. “A couple that had been married for many, many years. They were having some type of disagreement.”
Court papers showed the couple pulled over during the argument so the husband, Lynn Morgan, could get out of the car and walk to work.
“As he is getting out, she puts the car in reverse,” said Knight. “The door hits him, knocks him to the ground and she runs over him.”
Treva called police when she saw her husband on the ground not breathing and bleeding from the head. Lynn was taken to OU Medical Center where he was not expected to survive. He was taken off life-support and died 10 days after the crash.
“Investigators are still trying to piece together exactly what happened,” said Knight. “If this was a purposeful act or if this was an accident.”
The arrest warrant stated Treva admitted in an interview with investigators she was driving careless and unsafe.
“The investigation is still ongoing at this time,” said Knight. “But a warrant has been issued for her arrest on a negligent homicide charge.”
Treva Morgan also faces a reckless driving charge. That crime and negligent homicide are misdemeanors.
