Organizers say this donation drive is a great opportunity for people in the Oklahoma City metro to help out fellow Oklahomans no matter how far away.

Ahead of Saturday's drive, Rob Estes, president of the Lions Club, said city officials in places like Marietta and Sulphur are needing boxes and plastic totes for storage, but victims need basic necessities such as diapers, gloves, blankets and toiletries.

"Just imagine your house is gone, you have to start over from ground zero," Estes said. "That means your toothbrush, that means the mundane things we take for granted you don't have now, so we are collecting everything."

The club said they will be located outside the Bronco Bowl at 133 N Mustang Road between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.

For those who can’t donate items, Estes said your time is just as valuable, and the more volunteers they have, the faster they can get donations out to victims.
