In a one-on-one interview with Governor Kevin Stitt, he said he's thankful for federal officials' support and concern for our state.

Now, he's working to make sure Oklahomans aren't footing a massive bill.

On Tuesday, President Biden declared a major disaster for the state.

That ensured disaster relief and other recovery efforts made it to Oklahoma immediately by the federal government.

Stitt said he is still working with the feds to ensure Oklahomans get the support they need.

Another priority he has is ensuring there isn't a gap in funding for towns that rely on sales tax revenue.

If it does become a problem he will work with legislators on a stop-gap funding.

The Governor also encouraged those who have damage from the storms, to submit it to disaster.ok.gov.
