Our Movie Man is previewing the films coming out this weekend.
Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes
Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes is the first Planet of the Apes movie under the Disney regime after absorbing it from Fox.
This movie takes place many, many years after the reign of Caesar, the revolutionary leader who was memorably portrayed via motion capture by Andy Serkis. This story has a new tyrannical ape leader building his empire. But one young ape called Noa, played by Owen Teague, sets out on a harrowing journey with a human named Mae, who is portrayed by Reya Allen. That trip will make Bow reevaluate all he has learned about the past and make decisions that will shape the future for both humans and apes alike.
Owen Teague says it would not have been possible without Andy Serkis’ advice and training, and Director Wes Ball says he didn’t just want to do a fourth installment of the popular franchise.
Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes is rated PG-13.
Not Another Church Movie
Kevin Daniels leads the ensemble as Taylor Pherry, who is an ambitious young man given a holy mission from God Himself, and that is to tell his family’s stories and inspire his community. What he doesn’t know is that the devil has plans of his own. Jaime Foxx plays God, and Mickey Rourke portrays the Devil. The movie also stars Vivica A. Fox, and Jasmine Guy. A heads up from our Movie Man, this is not a Tyler Perry movie in any way, shape, or form.
Not Another Church Movie is rated R.
Last Stop in Yuma County
And lastly, the Last Stop in Yuma County is an R-rated crime thriller. It tells the story of an unassuming knife salesman. He unexpectedly finds himself trapped in a deadly game of cat-and-mouse with two bank robbers at a remote rest stop.
