This Mother's Day, a local nonprofit is giving back to the community while also celebrating moms across the city.
Curbside Flowers sold over 1,000 floral arrangements this Mother's Day, each one made by a person experiencing homelessness.
It's all part of Curbside Flowers' mission to provide employment and support to OKC's homeless.
"It's so exciting, all the kiddos that are excited to pick out flowers for their moms," said Hailey Drylie-Junker with Curbside Flowers.
A constant flow of customers, all looking for a way to say thank you this Mother's Day.
"It's just very meaningful knowing these are going to someone's loved one," Drylie-Junker said.
To add even more meaning, each floral arrangement comes with a card, including the signature of the person who made the arrangement.
"We are employing our clients who are either experiencing homelessness or transitioning out of homelessness," Drylie-Junker said.
She said their mission is to provide stability.
"There are just so many barriers to homelessness and finding a job so Curbside exists to break down those barriers and to create meaningful employment that they're proud to have and do," Drylie-Junker said.
And each floral arrangement was made special.
"It's just a beautiful moment because they know that these arrangements are going to someone's loved one as a way to say thank you for everything and I love you," she said.
Curbside Flowers employed over 40 of OKC's homeless to help make arrangements this year.
That totals over 700 hours of employment for them, it's a tradition they plan to continue in the years to come.
