Temperatures are rising, which means many will be relying more on our air conditioners to cool down, leading to monthly energy bills going up.
OG&E is proactively reminding customers that there are effective ways to keep their energy bills from skyrocketing this time of year.
OG&E Spokesperson Carson Cunningham joined News 9 to share ways to limit energy costs.
Cunningham said many people are concerned about bills spiking in summer months, but there are several programs and tips that can be implemented.
He said programs such as smart hours and weatherization can help make homes more energy efficient.

He also said to set the thermostat to what you are comfortable with, but keep in mind that a difference of a few degrees can save money.
"Every one degree can save up to 3% on your energy costs," Cunningham said.
