A deadly 24 hours in Oklahoma City sent police to different areas of the city to investigate three homicides. Police officials said on Wednesday the deadly shootings were not connected and no arrests were made.
Homicide investigators have been busy since Tuesday afternoon when a man was found shot to death in the middle of busy northwest Oklahoma City street.
Bob Mills Sky News 9 flew over the deadly shooting scene on Northwest 10th Street near Rockwell Avenue. Police said the shooter chased down 36-year-old Randy Mills into the middle of road where Mills collapsed and died at the scene. The suspect took off on foot.
“This is a middle of the day shooting with lots of traffic out here, a major thoroughfare so we believe there are people out there who may have seen this happen and we have not interviewed them or talked to them yet,” said Msgt. Gary Knight, Oklahoma City Police Department.
About 10 hours after that investigation started police were called to a shooting an apartment complex near Southeast 59th Street and Sunnylane Road.
“When they arrived, an adult female was located with apparent gunshot wounds,” said Sgt. Rob Robertson, Oklahoma City Police Department.
The victim was taken to a local hospital where she died. No one has been arrested in the case.
“No names are being released yet,” said Robertson. “We don’t have any suspect information at this time.”
A couple hours later another shooting call sent officers to the Will Rogers Courts in southwest Oklahoma City.
“Honestly, it’s not new,” said Buster Neice, neighbor. “It’s always something over here always.”
This time the deadly shooting hit too close to home for Buster Neice. His son missed school because of the crime scene.
“His bus stop is over here,” said Neice. “Making sure everything was ok.”
Police say the victim 38-year-old Anthony Hines was involved in an argument with another person when gunfire erupted. Hines was shot and died at the scene. Officers found another victim inside a car.
“Another adult make victim sustained some gunshot wounds and was transported to a local hospital where he is believed to be in stable condition right now,” said Robertson.
Police did not release a suspect description for the shooter at Will Rogers Courts. Anyone with tips about the deadly shootings are asked to call the Crime Stoppers tip line at (405) 235-7300.
