As the Riverwind Casino prepares to host its annual outdoor music festival, organizers are preparing for the summer-long setlist.

Beats and Bites features live music, and as the name suggests, plenty of food for visitors, and the Coca Cola Southwest Beverages Porch took a look at the first event of the festival taking place on Saturday.

Heather Rudd, the Riverwind Casino project manager, said the festival offers activities for people of all ages, all summer.

"Kicking off this Saturday is our first concert," Rudd said. "Then we have three more throughout the summer... the last one is going to be Sept. 1."

The festival has now been running for 8 years, and each year, Rudd said it continues to grow.

Chris Jansen and Easton Corbin will be performing to kick off the weekend, with gate time at 5 p.m. and show time at 6 p.m.

Tickets can be purchased online, at the casino box office, or on the day of the event for only $10.

It's that low price, Rudd said, encourages guests to take part in as much as they want.

"There's a variety of food entertainment stuff for the kiddos, so there's just a little bit of everything for everyone," Rudd said. "We have about 25 vendors per event."
