Police are investigating a string of drug heists from metro pharmacies.

A business reported thousands of dollars in pills and cash stolen during the burglaries. Police have not made any arrests in the case. The suspects were wearing masks and gloves during the break-ins, but it was the SUV they were driving that could get them caught.

Police were called on May 7 after employees at Oxford Pharmacy in southeast Oklahoma City and Miller Drug near Yukon reported thefts. According to a search warrant, a black Land Rover SUV with a concealed license plate was seen on security video from both businesses. Police said two suspects with large tools broke into the buildings.

“Were able to pry the door open,” said Sgt. Dillon Quirk, Oklahoma City Police Department. “Get inside and rummage through, steal certain items from inside.”

The suspects reportedly stole thousands of dollars in medication. One store owner told police a large amount of Adderall and Hydrocodone tablets was missing. Investigators could not identify the suspects from the security video.

“They had their faces covered in this instance, so it makes it a little more challenging,” said Quirk.

During the investigation, police learned the SUV was leased out of Dallas. The owner was able to give investigators GPS coordinates that confirmed the SUV was at the burglary locations and led police to a home in Norman.

“It tracked to a rental property,” said Quirk.

Oklahoma City police and Norman police went to the rented Airbnb but said no one answered the door. However, the SUV was parked in the driveway. Police impounded the SUV and got a warrant to search it for anything that could identify the suspects.

Police ask the public if they know anything about the burglaries to report tips to Crime Stoppers at (405) 235-7300. Tips can remain anonymous.
