A group of volunteers worked Wednesday to install a mural at the Oklahoma City National Memorial and Museum.

The mural is a recreation of a tape mural originally created by Michael Townsend and a team of artists who were preparing for the OKC Arts Festival 29 years ago.

“The image of individuals helping each other to fill up this fountain to create something beautiful, I think is a message that will resonate with most people who see it,” Director of Education and Public Programming Stephen Evans said.

In the days following the bombing of the Murrah Building, the team spent 58 hours creating the “Hope Mural” to inspire first responders.

You can see the mural now through Sunday with admission into the museum.
