A Kasey Alert was issued for a 43-year-old woman, on Friday afternoon in Edmond. The alert was later canceled after the woman was found.

Oklahoma County Sheriff's office confirmed that the woman was located, and safe.

The scene unfolded outside an Edmond coffee shop.

Oklahoma County Sheriff's deputies said they believed this was a possible robbery. However, they revealed limited facts in a case with lots of questions.

“We are trying to figure out all the details,” said Deputy Aaron Brilbeck, public information officer with the Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Office. “This is very early on in the investigation.”

A Northwest Edmond business strip typically isn’t covered with investigators. However, that was the scene Friday afternoon as Oklahoma County Sheriff’s deputies searched for clues.

“We’re still looking for the suspects in this case right now,” Brilbeck said.

Brilbeck said three men who were possibly carrying guns took a 43-year-old woman from the Edmond Coffee Jerks location on North MacArthur Boulevard and Northwest 178th Street.

“We do not believe this was a random kidnapping,” Brilbeck said.

News 9 is not naming the victim or showing her photo in this story due to the lack of information and the potentially sensitive nature of the case – but Brilbeck said a deputy found the victim alone on the southwest side of OKC.

“She was taken and checked out by EMSA,” Brilbeck said. “She’s okay.”

Brilbeck said he could only share a few details about the unique case.

“Still trying to figure out exactly what happened,” Brilbeck said. “It’s extremely unusual for something like this to just kinda happen.”

One employee at the coffee shop told News 9 they saw the incident but were confused about what happened. Brilbeck said they have talked to several witnesses at that shop to learn more information.

Investigators said they will release more details on this case early next week.
