Oklahoma Panhandle Sees Flooding & Additional Rain After Overnight Storms

The panhandle received seven to ten inches of rain overnight Tuesday, nearly half its annual total. Wednesday morning, roads were completely washed out and covered in water.

Parts of the panhandle have seen several inches of rain since record overnight rain on Tuesday.

After hours of flooding, the water has started to recede as rain has let up through Wednesday afternoon.

The panhandle saw seven to ten inches of rain overnight, nearly half its annual total.

News 9 Chief Meteorologist David Payne said this is considered a 1000-year flood.

Storm trackers were out Wednesday morning monitoring road conditions, as many streets and intersections were flooded due to the rain.

Roads in Guymon and surrounding cities were completely washed out and covered in water.
