Oklahoma's Library For The Blind is providing students with thumb drives and audio book players that can be used for those who are not able to use standard literature material due to disabilities.
The library is offering these reading materials completely free of charge to assist in the learning and development of blind students.
News 9 sat down with Kevin Treese and Alyssa Payne, who are representatives from the library, on the Coca-Cola Southwest Beverages Porch to share their mission in helping the blind gain access to crucial learning resources.
Since it's establishment in 1931, the Oklahoma Library For The Blind has been committed to ensuring that their students have unfiltered access to essential materials that can assist them.
"As someone who grew up with a speech impediment, I always wanted to do voiceover, so being able to have this opportunity for the past few years has really been a blessing to me to hone my speaking skills," Payne said.
The library continues to publish and release new audio recordings for various different genres of books that are featured every month.
