The Porch Helps Put Lyric Theatre's Summer Lineup In The Spotlight

As we push deeper into the summer months, Lyric Theatre is already full swing into its summer lineup of shows.

The theater's current show, "Mary Poppins," began showing on Tuesday, and runs through Sunday.

Thursday morning though, the News 9 team spoke with Lyric Theatre marketing director Susan Webb on the Coca-Cola Southwest Beverages Porch.

Webb said the show itself is amazing, but it's backed up with a star-studded cast.

"The sets are amazing," Webb said. "We have two wonderful Broadway stars: Cory Lingner and Adriana Hicks, who won a Grammy last year and played the role of sugar in Some Like It Hot on Broadway."

Hicks, who studied at the University of Oklahoma, is instructed by Lyn Cramer, who also taught Hicks while at OU, something that highlights some of the local talent in the area.

As for Lyric Theatre's future shows, Webb said there is much more for those who wish to attend.

"There's so much going on at Lyric at the [Oklahoma City Civic Center] this summer," Webb said. "We just announced our 2025 season, so you're gonna have to come to the theater and learn what our new season is."
