A man on a minibike led Moore police on a dangerous pursuit near railroad tracks.

The officers were attempting to stop 22-year-old Brandon Young on Wednesday for improper equipment.

The pursuit with Young only lasted a few minutes but police said the tricky part was following the bike rider when he went off-roading.

Two Moore police officers were patrolling near Northeast 27th Street and North Eastern Avenue when they spotted the minibike. Police said a loud noise coming from the bike caught the officers' attention.

“The officers decided they needed to check the vehicle to make sure it was properly equipped to be driven on the roadway,” said Clint Byley, Moore Police Department.

Police said Young refused to stop and jumped the curb driving toward the Burlington Northern Railroad yard and tracks. The officer driving followed the fleeing suspect.

“He was expertly able to navigate down through the gravel at a high rate of speed while keeping up with the driver,” said Byley.

The officer in the passenger seat jumped out of the patrol car and tackled Young while he was on the minibike.

“He had issues with his motorcycle and [...] within seconds the officer closed the gap and brought him to the ground,” said Byley.

The officer's body camera fell off during the scuffle, but it caught the suspect verbally surrendering.

“I’m done bro,” said Young, “I’m not fighting no more.”

Police said Young had a revoked driver's license. He was booked into the Cleveland County Jail on four municipal charges.

The spokesperson for the Moore Police Department said the city has ordinances for motorcycles and if an officer suspects a bike is not street legal, they will conduct a traffic stop.
