Walmart In Newcastle Evacuated, Cleared After Caller Threatens Shooting

The Walmart in Newcastle was evacuated and cleared after a caller threatened to shoot up the store on Saturday.

The Newcastle Police Department said it received the call at 2:39 p.m. where the caller made the threat.

NPD officers, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, McClain County Sheriff and Lighthorse Police responded to the store, securing the area and evacuating occupants to ensure their safety.

Law enforcement searched the store and did not locate any threat.

There's no other information available at this time, NPD said this is an active investigation.

The store remains open.
