Fireworks Cause Oklahoma City Home To Catch Fire

A family is out of their home Friday morning in the metro after fireworks caused a fire at the home.

Fireworks caused a dumpster to catch fire, and the flames spread to the home's attic.

It happened at a house near SE 89th and Sunny Lane in Oklahoma City around 11:30 p.m. Thursday, July 4.

After the fire was out, crews had a warning for Oklahoma City residents.

"This is pretty common this time of year even if it is illegal in Oklahoma City to do so. But one thing to think about is to take advantage of the public displays, cause they also get to do the clean up."

No injuries were reported in this fire but the house was significantly damaged.
