The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine will offer tuition-free classes for students whose families make below a certain income.
Beginning in the fall of 2024, the university will allow select students to attend for free after a donation from Bloomberg Philanthropies.
Bloomberg Philanthropies, a charitable organization founded by former New York City Mayor and Johns Hopkins alumnus Michael Bloomberg, donated $1 billion to the university.
According to the university, students whose families make less than $300,000 dollars will be eligible for a tuition-free education.
Those who families make less than $175,000 a year may also have their living expenses covered, the university said.
