Brandon Chiles, founder of The Change Movement, joined the Coca-Cola Southwest Beverages Porch on Thursday to discuss his organization's mission of aiding the unhoused community both physically and spiritually.

“Our organization consists of various outreaches that come together to form the body of Christ. We focus on loving others rather than judging them,” said Chiles. “The movement is not about changing others; it’s about working on ourselves to become better examples for the people we wish to influence.”

Chiles recounted how The Change Movement began four years ago when he was working as a delivery driver.

“I was doing DoorDash when God spoke to me, saying, ‘Feed My People,’” he said. This divine inspiration came 20 years after a life-altering motorcycle accident that left Chiles with a distinctive voice and numerous injuries. At the time of the accident, Chiles was ranked sixth in the nation as a bodybuilder and was weeks away from earning his professional card.

Despite severe injuries, including collapsed lungs and multiple broken ribs, Chiles survived due to his physical conditioning. This experience reinforced his faith and commitment to helping others.

“My wife and I started with $35 worth of food—sandwich meat, bread, chips, snacks, and water. We fed people, and it brought joy to our hearts,” Chiles said. The next day, Chiles' spiritual mother called and asked about his ministry aspirations. Upon hearing his desire to feed the homeless, she provided a $500 donation.

“Since then, people have continuously blessed us, and God’s support has brought everyone together,” Chiles added.

Two years ago, Chiles had a dream to unite various outreach efforts that were feeding the unhoused, which sometimes felt competitive. “With God, there is no competition,” he said.

The Change Movement can be found on Facebook, where individuals can join the cause and stay updated on events. Their next event is scheduled for Sept. 28.
