The University of Oklahoma's offensive line went head-to-head with one of Professional Bull Riders biggest stars. The friendly competition helped launch our state's first PBR team, the Oklahoma Wildcatters.

The team along with PBR kicked off their first-ever season at Paycom Center in downtown Oklahoma City on Thursday with the help of Top Dollar, one of PBR’s toughest bulls.

He had his eye on the competition. Never before has Top Dollar, a world-famous bull, squared-off with a college football team's offensive line.

“We’re gonna put Top Dollar on the scales,” said Matt West, Voice of PBR. “The bull is officially weighing in at 1528.”

One of the University of Oklahoma football team members reacted to the animal’s weight.

“For an animal to be that athletic and big,” said Jacob Sexton, OU Football. “It’s impressive.”

Jacob Sexton joined his OU football teammates on the scale to find out how many linemen equal one Top Dollar.

“Those five guys we’ve got a Top Dollar,” said West.

The weigh-in ushered in a new era for Oklahoma with a press conference held outside the Paycom Center.

“Oklahoma’s newest sporting team,” said West. “The Oklahoma Wildcatters.”

Instead of competing alone, the Oklahoma Wildcatters will take on teams from other states this weekend on their home turf.

“Being part of a team it’s a lot different for sure then riding by yourself,” said Autin Richardson, Oklahoma Wildcatters. “Because you’re riding for your teammates, you have a coach supporting you along the way.”

The professional bull riders have predicted a winning home opener.

“Got a great team,” said J.B. Mauney, Oklahoma Wildcatters Head Coach. “Got a great team, a bunch of young guys with a lot of grit and a lot of try so we should win.”

Mauney is a two-time World Champion and recent Bull Riding Hall of Fame inductee.

The Wildcatters will take on the reigning PBR Teams Champion Texas Rattlers on Friday night at the Paycom Center. The team also competes Saturday and Sunday.
