Guthrie police say that three young women sexually exploited residents inside the Golden Age Nursing Home.

The investigation began when a former employee gave details about the incidents.

Snapchat videos recorded by three women share different views of how residents were treated.

Those videos led to the arrest of McKenzie Bolfa, Aubrey Granata, and Jade Williams. They've now been charged with conspiracy and elder abuse.

"Some of the arrested people had photos mocking dead people, imitating the way they died in a manner that's just not befitting the deceased. There was some inappropriate playing in pubic hair," said Guthrie Police Chief Don Sweger.

Chief Sweger says he's handled elder abuse cases before, but this is like nothing he's ever experienced.

"This one was tied a whole lot to phones and Snapchat, and sometimes we don't get that much," said Chief Sweger.

In those videos dating back to last year, the women are standing over residents, exposing them to the suspects and even adding captions that court documents say mocked the residents.

"We have gotten statements from some people who observed the activity," said Sweger.

The nursing home sent News 9 a statement:

"At Golden Age Nursing Home, our priority and passion is to create a safe and loving community where our residents can thrive. All of our employees are subject to background checks and receive training about patients' rights and safety. We are proud of our staff of over 150 employees and the work they do to help our residents live in dignity and comfort.
Unfortunately, we recently became aware of allegations of a violation of resident's rights involving three employees. Upon receiving that information, the facility notified local law enforcement and began working with law enforcement and appropriate authorities to respond. The employees involved are no longer employed at Golden Age. We are committed to protecting the privacy and safety of the residents and families involved and will continue to keep them updated with any developments related to this matter. "
