Gov. Stitt Appoints Ellen Buettner As Chief Health And Mental Health Advisor

Governor Kevin Stitt announced that Ellen Buettner will serve as his chief health and mental health advisor, in addition to her role as CEO of the Oklahoma Health Care Authority. Buettner, appointed as CEO in 2023, leads the agency administering Oklahoma's Medicaid program, serving over 1 million residents, according to a press release.

Governor Kevin Stitt announced Friday that Ellen Buettner will serve as his Chief Health and Mental Health Advisor, according to a press release.

Buettner will take on this role in addition to her responsibilities as Chief Executive Officer of the Oklahoma Health Care Authority (OHCA).

Buettner was appointed CEO of OHCA in 2023 after serving as the agency’s chief of staff for four years, the release stated.

As CEO, she leads one of the state’s largest appropriate agencies to administer Oklahoma’s Medicaid program, serving over 1 million Oklahomans, according to the press release.
