A close friend of Holly Miller has identified her as the victim in a homicide that happened near Highway 92 and Interstate 44 early this week.
While the Grady County Sheriff's Office and Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation responded to the incident and revealed it is a homicide, the Federal Bureau of Investigation has taken over the case because it happened on tribal land.
The agency has not released any details about the case and calls it a suspicious death. No suspects have been publicly named.
Despite the lack of information, Chelsea Riddle wants the wider community to know the impact Miller left behind on a local community of young girls passionate about basketball.
"She was always there encouraging them and letting them know, you can get to where you want to be, you just have to push forward,'" Riddle said. "And she showed them what being strong is."
Riddle said she first met Holly years ago through her job but got to know her better once their daughters connected and transferred to the same school.
"She was fierce," Riddle said. "And she loved everybody. It didn't matter who it was. And she would sit and have a conversation with you for hours. I mean, she really cared about people."
Chelsea and her husband sat down together to share the news of Miller's passing with their daughter. They've asked the public to pray for Miller's family.
