We now know the identity of the suspect and the victim, who were both killed Saturday during a rally in Pennsylvania.
The shooter was 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks, from Bethel Park where the rally was being held. The victim was a former fire chief and dad from the area.
"There is no place in America for this kind of violence or any kind of violence for that matter," President Joe Biden said Sunday, denouncing political violence after the assassination attempt on Former President Donald Trump.
The shooter was killed by the Secret Service moments after he opened fire.
"He was a kid that was always alone, always bullied every day," a former classmate of Crooks’ said.
Crooks opened fire at Trump's rally in Butler, Pennsylvania from the roof of a building nearby.
One bullet grazed the former president’s ear before the Secret Service escorted him off stage.
Photos of that moment are going viral online.
Meanwhile, stray bullets critically injured two bystanders and killed another.
"We lost a fellow Pennsylvanian last night," Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro said.
Shapiro shared that the victim was 50-year-old Corey Comperatore, a devoted girl dad and firefighter.
"Corey died a hero. Corey dove on his family to protect them last night at this rally," Shapiro said.
"We also extend our deepest condolences to the family of the victim who was killed. He was a father. He was protecting his family from the bullets that were being fired," President Biden said.
President Biden said Crooks' motive for the shooting is still under investigation.
“Don't make assumptions about his motives or affiliations let the FBI do their job," he said.
President Joe Biden addressed the nation from the Oval Office Sunday Evening.
