The all clear has been given after units from several different emergency crews investigated a bomb threat at a train station in Purcell.

The all clear has been given after units from several different emergency crews investigated a bomb threat at a train station in Purcell.

The McClain County Sheriff's Office, Purcell Police Department, Purcell Fire Department, and Oklahoma Highway Patrol Bomb Squad were on an active scene investigating a suspicious package at the train depot, according to the McClain County Sheriff's Office.

According to police, at around 9 a.m. on Monday, an Amtrak employee was notified about a piece of luggage that was ticking.

The train stopped at the next stop, Purcell, where 115 passengers and 4 crew members were evacuated.

The station is located on East Main Street and North Santa Fe Avenue.

According to Amtrak public information officer Mark Magliari, the passengers were transported to Purcell High School.

After an investigation that lasted a couple of hours, police said the bag belonged to a child traveling with a grandparent; nothing was found, and the train was given the all-clear.
